What is telehealth?
Telehealth is a way to visit with healthcare providers, such as your doctor or nurse practitioner. You can talk to your provider from any place, including your home. You don’t have to go to a clinic or hospital.
How do I use telehealth?
You talk to your provider by phone, computer, or tablet.
You can use video so you and your provider can see each other.
How does telehealth help me?
You don’t have to go to a clinic or hospital to see your provider, and you won’t risk getting sick from other people.
Can telehealth be bad for me?
You and your provider won’t be in the same room, so it may feel different than an office visit. Also, technical problems may interrupt or stop your visit before you are done.
- Your provider may make a mistake because they cannot examine you as closely as at an office visit. (We don’t know if mistakes are more common with telehealth visits.)
- Your provider may decide you still need an office visit.
Will my telehealth visit be private?
We will not record visits with your provider. We suggest that you conduct your visit in a private space to prevent others from hearing something you do not want them to know. We use telehealth technology that is designed to protect your privacy.
What if I want an office visit, not a telehealth visit?
Outro does not provide services in-person.
What if I try telehealth and don’t like it?
You can stop using telehealth any time, even during a telehealth visit. You are not obligated to continue using Outro to provide your healthcare. If you would like to cancel using Outro for your healthcare needs, simply contact us. You can cancel in any one of the following ways:
- email hello@outro.com OR
- sign into your patient portal and write a message to the Outro team.
Permission for Scribe During Telehealth Visits
We are committed to providing you with the highest quality of care, and as part of our efforts to enhance your experience, we use a tool called Heidi that helps us capture important details of your visit more efficiently. This tool helps us streamline your experience by creating written summaries of your visit, allowing your clinician to devote more time to your care.
What is Heidi?
Heidi is a technology that captures key information from your medical appointment and generates a summary or clinical note based on the conversation. The note is then reviewed by your clinician to ensure its accuracy before being added to your medical record. This process helps us reduce the time spent on documentation, so we can focus more on you during your visit.
How does this affect me?
Heidi does not interact with you directly. It automatically captures key details from the conversation and creates a summary or note for your clinician to review. You won’t need to do anything differently, and this technology is designed to enhance your experience by giving your clinician more time to engage with you during your visit.
Data Privacy and Security
Your privacy is a top priority for us. Heidi is compliant with health privacy regulations, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), ensuring that your information is secure and confidential. Only your healthcare team will have access to the notes generated during your visit.
Voluntary Participation
By moving forward with the sign-up process with Outro, you are giving your consent for the use of Heidi to generate a summary or note for your future appointments. Participation is voluntary, and you may decline the use of this technology without affecting your ability to receive care. If you have any questions or concerns about the use of Heidi or wish to opt out, please inform us prior to your visit.
What does it mean if I continue the sign-up process with Outro?
